道格拉斯·卡尔顿·艾布拉姆斯 曾在加利福尼亚大学出版社、哈珀旧金山出版社担任编辑多年。他跟多位作者，包括大主教德斯蒙德·图图，B.K.S.艾扬格，以及道家名师谢明德合著过涉及爱情、心灵等方面的著作。他和妻子以及三个孩子一起生活在加利福尼亚圣克鲁兹。本书是他的小说处女作。
